Dialing it back

I've decided to dial it back from every day to "on the days that I really remember my dreams."

There were multiple times during the past few nights that I would wake up and I would instantly try to remember everything I could about my dream and narrow it down to "high points" to remember so that I could write about it.

Then I would go back to sleep and have another dream.  As soon as I'd wake up, I'd try to remember that dream and the dream before it, too.  But when you wake up 3-4 times a night....you spend more time trying to remember dreams than you do actually getting about having dreams.

For instance, Thursday, the 8th, I emailed myself the following notes:

  • Found a baby in a field and went through the attic of the house on Fourth street trying to find stored baby gear.
  • My gun barrel could be unscrewed, turned around, and then a drill bit inserted and my gun played double duty as a drill.
  • In a church singing a good ol’ unknown southern gospel hymn with the lyrics, “You opened my eyes to a new paradise, ev-ery moment of ev-er-y day.”
Originally I was handwriting all of these dreams in a notebook and the task of writing these out into a full story just became daunting to me.

So instead, I came here, typed all of the entries up and decided that I'll do the dreams as I remember them.  It may be daily, it may be weekly.  But I'll get them here as I can, as long as it doesn't interfere with me actually getting the sleep I need to have dreams.
